At Melbourne Zoo, you can meet over 300 different species from around the world, majestic Asian Elephants, sleek Sumatran Tigers and Orang-utans swinging through the trees, the Gorilla Rainforest, or see koalas and kangaroos in the Australian bush setting, you can also watch many talented bird shows or touch and feel crazy looking insects. Melbourne Zoo has also provided a new and exciting interactive exhibits designed especially for kids. By visiting the zoo you will definitely leave with new knowledge on all our animals and our fight to save wildlife from extinction and what you can do to help.

The Zoo provides school programs providing students with opportunities to connect with wildlife, build their understandings of real life conservation issues and be empowered to take action and help save wildlife. Melbourne Zoo has a mission to allow communities to commit to the conservation of wildlife and wild places, it is not just about seeing animals but by having the most fun, exciting, unforgettable and once in a life time activities, which are suitable for all ages.
